More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community persist in remembering the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt prepared to share openly about his profound loss.

"Enough time has elapsed that I can now put my grief into words," posted Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced passing more hours together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the film, adding that he cannot recall "one day without laughter".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Fellow Artist

In a separate essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.

"He could improvise with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge ruled to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order issued a restriction on the files to limit the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" connected to the probe.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the result of foul play, with a record noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Fallout and Commentary

In the wake of the deaths, public personalities expressed divergent reactions.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, offering provocative claims that were met with immediate backlash by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his criticism to the critics last week. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan described the remarks as "disappointing" and remarked they showed a worrisome absence of compassion.

Rogan finished by proposing that an adviser could have acted when the impulse to speak on the death was made.
