This event caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a luggage theft where a substance thought to be irritant spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.

These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A toddler was caught up in the incident in the event. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

This event – described by police as was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
